(** means we actually have owned or currently own)
**hiccapop Inflatable Toddler Travel Bed with Safety Bumpers [4-Sided] | Portable Toddler Bed
We own 2 of these, and for some trips these are ideal. The only reason I don’t like these is the pure weight of carrying them, but the kids love sleeping in them, they take mere moments to set up (under 2 minutes), and can be covered with a plain old crib sheet or mattress protector so they will last forever. If you do travel with one, be sure to take a patch kit too, just in case.
**NiHome Travel Bed Rails for Toddlers Kids (2-Pack) – Inflatable Bed Rails
These things are ingenious! We ordered them when the kids were just transitioning to big kid beds, and weren’t reliably staying on their mattresses. They can be placed either on the two sides of a bed (in under 3 minutes, it’s possible to tuck them under the sheets and remake the bed), or down the middle of a larger bed. We often put one in the middle of a double or queen bed to make “2 beds” for the kids to sleep in overnight without rolling into each other. Best feature: they fold up ridiculously small, and are incredibly easy to transport.
Regalo My Cot Portable Toddler Bed, Includes Fitted Sheet
I wish we’d owned this before buying the blow up beds. These look like the perfect, compact option. And I love that it comes with its own sheet.
Moonsea Toddler Nap Mat Warm with Removable Pillow and Fleece Minky Blanket, Lightweight, Soft
If the situation is right, this is a great addition to one of the items above, or great as a stand-alone sleep option for your kiddos. And, in my opinion, the world can’t have enough minky fleece, so…why not?
Washable Bed Pads for Incontinence 2 Pack,34” x 52”
If you’re potty training, or have a babe that pees gallons at night, or are just paranoid about having to buy a new mattress for your Airbnb host, these are a fairly affordable option. Bonus points: you can use them even when you’re not traveling, and may already own them at home.
Munchkin Brica Baby Travel Pod
In lieu of a bassinet, this travel pod folds up so small and weights so little…I wish I’d known about these when my twins were born (or before!). We would’ve definitely owned a pair.
Pamo Babe Travel Crib, Portable Crib for Baby
We used regular old pack n plays on the go, up until the kids were well into year 2. We stayed at a lovely Airbnb in Kihei (Maui, Hawaii) that had one of these and it was so, so easy to set up and take down, I wondered – as always – how did I now know about this yet? It is a might smaller than a full pack n play, but if you’ve still got smaller littles, I highly recommend this travel crib.
**Graco Pack ‘N Play On The Go Playard
If you’re in the market for a trusty, traditional pack n play, this is one of the fairest priced, highest rated ones available.
LLYWCM Crib Blackout Cover for Pack N Play – Travel Crib Cover, Breathable Baby Netting
I would absolutely, without any exceptions never recommend the popular blackout product that costs multiple times as much as this one, and takes up a crazy amount of luggage space. But if your baby insists on zero light to sleep, this is an affordable, easy-to-pack option.
KidCo P3012 PeaPod Portable Pop Up Infant Toddler Baby Childrens Indoor Outdoor Travel Bed
Ironically, these pop ups are designed for younger kiddos, but my older (3+) kids like them better now that they are older. Be sure your destination has a nice, thick blanket available to lay underneath the pop up – that was our number 1 issue with this product. It has nearly zero padding to actually sleep on. But if we prepped it right, with a quality blanket underneath, the kids slept beautifully.
Regalo My Crib Portable Infant Bassinet, Includes Design Padded Insert, Travel Carry Bag, Support
I love that this bassinet is foldable & lightweight, easy to assemble, yet still sturdy.
Regalo Baby Basics™ Infant Bassinet, Gray, Portable and Collapsible, Includes Padded Insert
Another great option if you need a bassinet at your destination.
**White Noise Machine Babelio Mini Sound Machine for Adults Kids Baby | 15 Non-looping Sounds | Timer
For about 18 months, the kids used their white noise machine. So I wanted to buy the tiniest one I could find. Eureka!
**Zarbee’s Baby Massage Balm; Calming and Soothing Sleep with Shea Butter; Lavender and Chamomile
If your little one is having trouble getting enough Zzz’s, this balm may help them calm down and be able to sleep better in a new environment.
