This kept Sophie busy for hours (and the one below, for Luka). The only mistake I definitely made that I warn you about: don’t give your child aaaaaaallllll the velcro pieces at once. Divide them into baggies or unzip some of the pages to store away. We had quite the explosion (x2 lol)

This board is on my list to get once the kids age into it. At this point, it would be a nightmare to contain (especially since Miss Sophie is into collecting anything smaller than her tiny fist and never giving/throwing it away). I probably wouldn’t bring this on a plane, but would for sure put it in our suitcase.

I love the educational aspect of this, plus that it is fully contained (no small pieces escaping!). And there are a few different theme choices in this same type of toy, so if your child doesn’t like trains, there are other options.

This looks to be a bit on the large size, but if you check out the pictures of the reviews, it is actually perfectly sized for travel. If your baby is in the “everything in the mouth,” phase then you need to keep an eye on him while playing with this one, or limit which pieces you leave available, as some of the shapes are small enough to be a choking hazard.

We have bought more than one of these throughout the years, and they always are a hit. They don’t last for several days, but they DO last for hours within a single day (like HOURS). My son has never gone back to one the next day (namely because he usually makes me hang it up on the wall/fridge), but occasionally my daughter will rearrange hers in the days after.
